Fielden group

The Fielden group has an established expertise in the synthesis of imido-polyoxometalate derivatives, and has pioneered study of their photonic properties. We are particularly interested in their potentially switchable non-linear optical (NLO) responses, and assembly of imido-polyoxometalate materials into ordered films with bulk NLO responses. These have potential uses in information processing and data storage. In addition to this, we have interests in solar energy conversion and catalysis for sustainable chemistry, based both on POMs and other materials.
